Improving Sludge Treatment in Large Pig Slaughterhouses

One of the largest VOLUTEs for the largest pig slaughterhouse in Russia

Tambov Bacon is one of the largest meat processing plants in Russia, its processing plant handles over 1.9 million pigs yearly.

Originally, there was a decanter centrifuge installed at the existing wastewater treatment facility. The centrifuge faced many obstacles while dealing with the mix of DAF and WAS at given conditions. Its continuous failing to process the flotation sludge from physical and chemical treatment, while dewatering only excessive sludge, led the management to a decision of replacing the technology.

Shortly afterwards the reconstruction works started, and the company Tambov Bacon, which doubled its capacity by that time, installed VOLUTE™ ES-402. It’s because of VOLUTE™’s high effectivity that the plant currently easily dewaters and manages to treat all sludge – excessive and DAF – sufficiently.
