Background

A very well-known German car manufacturer had been using centrifuges in its paint shop until now, but it already needed to be replaced. At its highest output, it reached a cake dryness of 40-50 %-DSC. However, it always took tens of minutes before it reached its maximum performance, which, when operated only a few hours a week, meant that the cake quality was not always equally good all the time. Therefore, the client needed a continuous dewatering and dryness around 50 %-DSC.
Another challenge was that the sludge comes from different sources (2x DAF, 1x other) and should be dewatered automatically without need for operator.

Installation details

During testing, the results were already beyond expectations, but the installed RVP-381 was even able to achieve always an average dryness of above 60 %-DS and a capture rate of > 99 %. Thanks to the advanced software, it dewaters automatically in 5 different programs and switches between them depending on the sludge that needs to be dewatered and automatically adjusts the polymer dose, which is already very low. Thanks to all these, the client is very excited about purchasing the VOLUTE DUO™.
