Tequila Campo Azul, Mexico
Campo Azul has been distilling Tequila Weber Blue Agave since the 60’s. The raw wastewater (Vinasse), also called spent wash, goes in a clarifier, where the suspended solids sediment by gravity. The liquid sludge was expensive to discharge, and with perspectives of growing their production, Tequila Campo Azul searched for a solution to reduce the volume of their sludge.
Thanks to AMCON’s distributor, Tecpro Ambiental S.A De C.V., Tequilla Campo Azul found the right solution. After receiving samples to run a sludge analysis and perform a jar test, Tecpro noticed that the vinasse from tequila production contains agave fibers and offered a VOLUTE DUO™ RVP-802 adapted to their actual and future dewatering needs. The contactless design of screws and rings in the cylinder eliminates the risk of blockages and therefore makes VOLUTE DUO the perfect technology to dewater fibrous sludge.
