Background

The German locomotive maintenance depot specialises in conversions and modernisations of rolling stock, besides regular and accidental repairs and maintenance services. Such work produces wastewater with a high content of grease, oil, lubricants, preservatives, and washing water. The facility produces 3–4 m³ of sludge with changing solids concentration and composition on a daily basis.

Installation details

The customer built a new wastewater treatment line and selected the VOLUTE™ dewatering press as a sludge dewatering solution, namely because of its qualities regarding greasy and oily sludge treatment. In addition, the VOLUTE™ has low consumption of electricity and rinsing water.

The voice of the customer: “We are satisfied with the installation. The adjustment of settings is very easy, so we can quickly react to any sludge concentration change. The throughput is perfect for our process, and the dewatered sludge is easy to handle. VOLUTE™ is small in size but big in performance.”
