Cela permet de r\u00e9duire la main d&rsquo;\u0153uvre n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 l&rsquo;exploitation, de diminuer la consommation de polym\u00e8re et de s&rsquo;assurer que la machine traite toujours la quantit\u00e9 maximale de boue. Il se compose d&rsquo;anneaux fixes et mobiles verticaux altern\u00e9s avec un espace entre chaque anneaux pour permettre au filtrat de s&rsquo;\u00e9chapper. Une vis sans fin transf\u00e8re et compacte la boue \u00e0 travers le cylindre jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 son extr\u00e9mit\u00e9. En tournant, la vis, en contact avec les anneaux mobiles, entra\u00eene ces derniers vers le haut et vers le bas, cr\u00e9ant un effet ciseaux, m\u00e9canisme autonettoyant et sans colmatage. Seule une tr\u00e8s petite quantit\u00e9 d&rsquo;eau \u00e0 basse pression est utilis\u00e9e p\u00e9riodiquement pour nettoyer les anneaux de l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur. Cela permet une d\u00e9shydratation directe des boues \u00e0 haute et basse concentration sans aucun syst\u00e8me de pr\u00e9-\u00e9paississement.
